Most Latin Americans discover Latin America while living abroad.
That is when they realise that the national borders created during the colonial times do not reflect the true characteristics of the continent even though they try to divide its people
Looking at Latin America through the eyes of an ex pat one can see the incredible mystical dimension created by myths and legends in some cases, by fascination with the unknown, in others.
But one can also see that we, Latin Americans, are only one race made up of many races which through the years found their niche in that land. We are an example of a "multiracism" that lives under only one culture: the Latin American culture.
That is why no matter where in the world we find ourselves, the loud rumble of a drum, the sweat sound of a "quena", the lament of a guitar, the mere name of the Amazon, the swish of the "Pampero", Machu Pichu, the Mayas, the roar of the Iguazu Falls, the salsa, "cumbia" and "La Bamba", the Rio Mardi Gras, the Festivals of Vina and Mar del Plata, will unite us spiritually to our people and to our great Latin American homeland.
This page is an image of all our people, their successes and failures, their ambitions and their hopes. But above everything else, their history.
